Falcons Defeated by Emerson. 6-2

BOSTON, Mass. – A scoring spree for the Emerson Men's Soccer Team lit up the scoreboard Wednesday night as the Lions took a 6-2 win over the Fisher Falcons. With the win the Lions are now 7-8 overall as Fisher falls to 4-11.

The first half saw the Lions go full throttle at the Falcons as they cranked out 19 shots in the half to Fisher's 10. The Lions took it to the scoreboard first just under 16 minutes into the half as Adam Halliday lobbed a pass over a defender that Evan Gooden that he popped over the keepers head to make it a quick 1-0.

Emerson didn't waste much time as they put away another goal in the 20th minute as Killian Fisher cranked a blast from 10 yards outside the box that Fisher's keeper had no chance at to make it 2-0. The Lions closed out the half with another goal as well with Evan Gooden putting a pass across the top of the box that Adam Halliday put away into the left corner to make it 3-0 at the break.

In the second half the Falcons held the Lions at bay for 20 minutes until EC finally broke through with a breakaway by Patrick Kudej who tapped a pass to the middle of the box that an en route Adam Halliday cranked into the top right to make it 4-0.

Fisher finally scrapped back into the match in the 77th minute after a misplayed ball saw Robert Abreu take a breakaway to the back left of the net to make it 4-1. EC fired back mere seconds later though as Dan Knight streaked down the left side of the field with some nasty footwork that he dropped into the bottom left corner to make it 5-1.

One last goal remained for the Lions as Dan Haber made some footwork to drop a pass to split the defense that Jon Havens dropped into the bottom right to make it 6-1. Fisher rallied back for one more as well though as Jerry Dieudonne put a ball through the defense that found the bottom right for the 6-2 final.
