Falcons soar over Sarah Lawrence, 5-4

YONKERS, N.Y.—Fisher's men soccer team traveled to New York to take on Sarah Lawrence College in a Saturday afternoon game at Tibbetts Brook Park. The falcons were able to gain a three goal lead into half and were able to hold off a comeback by Sarah Lawrence College to gain the 5-4 win.

Fisher's Tyler Gahara (Freshman/ Hooksett, NH) gained the first goal of the game when he found the back of the net off of a pass by Caio Gomes (Junior/ Nantucket, MA) in the 9th minute. Ishaan Pujari tied the game up at 1-1 in the 10th minute. Gahara's second goal of the game came in the 13th minute to give the Falcons the 2-1 lead.  Gahara's goals in 16th and 41st minutes gave him 4 goals in the game as well as gave the Falcons a 4-1 at half.

Pujari was able to score his second goal of the game for Sarah Lawrence College, early in the second half to decrease their deficit to 2.  Freshman Robert Abreu (Salem, MA) was able to increase the lead back to 3 with his goal in the 61st minute. In the 63rd minute, Sarah Lawrence College was able to gain another goal when Juan Sucre found the back of the net. Pujari gained the hat trick of goals for Sarah Lawrence in the 76th minute to get within one goal of Fisher. Sophomore Yves Charles (Holbrook, MA) was able to earn the win for the Falcons giving up four goals but also making three save.

This win over Sarah Lawrence College marks the end of the Falcons games for the 2013 season.
