Falcons' Men's Soccer Earns First Win of 2014 Season

Brooklyn, NY - The Falcons earned their first win of the season against St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn (1-1) Wednesday night.

Fisher College started the game strong, keeping the ball down field for the majority of the first half. Matthew Miller (Lake Worth, FL) took the first shot of the game within the first two minutes, but the shot was high. The Falcons' Tyler Gahara (Hookset, NH) and Miller took two more shots before the 20-minute mark.

In the 20th minute, Jacob West (Epping, NH) scored the first goal of the game. West took his shot from a midfield pass. The ball deflected off the goalie into the bottom left of the net and Fisher took the lead 1-0.

Fisher kept control of the ball, but St. Joseph's was able to knot the score at 1 on a shot to the lower right and past the Falcons' keeper. Possession of the ball continued to flop, but Fisher was able to take control in the 38th minute, with Gahara flicking the ball over the Bear's keeper's head, increasing the score to 2-1.
