Gahara, Falcons Sail Past CIA, 8-2

Boston, MA – Tyler Gahara (Hooksett, NH) collected five goals and Jacob West (Epping, NH) netted a hat-trick of his own, as the Fisher Falcons eased to an 8-2 victory over the Culinary Institute of America Saturday afternoon at Hormel Stadium in Medford, MA.

Gahara opened the scoring in the third minute on a feed from freshman Sergio Messa (Barcelona, Spain), and the Falcons never looked back on their way to their third win of the season. Gahara scored four of his five goals in the opening 42 minutes before matching his career high with a goal in the 73rd minute.

Fisher led 5-0 at the break after West collected his first goal of the game just a minute before half. West doubled his tally two minutes into the second half before capping off the Fisher offensive in the 77th minute.

Sophomore Jose Villagran (Somerville, MA) had six saves to earn the victory for Fisher. CIA's Eric Hamway had 11 saves in the losing effort. Fisher held a decisive 27-13 shot advantage, benefitting from an overwhelmed CIA defense.

Fisher returns to action Sunday, September 28th, when they travel to Vermont Tech College for a 3:00pm kick-off.
