Men’s Soccer Finishes Season with a 6-3 Win

Cobleskill, NY - The Fisher College men's soccer team (8-10) closed out the season on the road at SUNY Cobleskill (3-14). The Falcons secured a 6-3 win over the Tigers.

 

Sergio Messa (Barcelona, Spain) set the tone for the game in the third minute when he scored a goal on a pass from Jacob West (Epping, NH), giving the Falcons a 1-0 lead.  Cobleskill bounced back seven minutes later when Tyler Condame scored on a cross by teammate Dan Rucinski, knotting the game at 1. 

 

In the 15th minute, Tyler Gahara (Hooksett, NH) made the most of a ball off the post when he sunk it into the net to give the Falcons a 2-1 lead. The game stayed positive for the Falcons when West added another goal in the 28th minute from the 18-yard line. Fisher took the lead with a score of 3-1. 

 

Right before the half, the Tigers cut the lead to 1 when Hamdou Babe Kent beat the Falcons' keeper to net a goal. Heading into half time the Falcons lead 3-2.

 

Although the second half started a little slow, the Tigers tied the game in the 77th minute with a Rucinski goal. The Falcons' Henry Maldonado (Everett, MA) prevailed two minutes later and scored, putting Fisher up 4-3. 

 

Junior midfielder Gary Maldonado (Lawrence, MA) added another Falcon goal in the 83rd minute on a cross from senior midfielder Caio Gomes (Nantucket, MA). In the 85th minute, Messa netted the final goal of the game to give the Falcons the winning advantage of 6-3. 

 

Steven Masterson (Berkeley, MA) made his second appearance in net, earning the win while making five saves with only eight shots on goal.
