Men’s Soccer Conquers Patriots 4-1

Phoenixville, Pennsylvania – A big first half propelled the Fisher College men's soccer team to a 4-1 victory over the University of Valley Forge on Monday.

 

With the win, the Falcons improve to 6-4-3 with the victory.

 

Fisher dominated the first half offensively taking twelve shots against the Patriots six shots. 

 

Falcon midfielder Tom Pugliese (Saugus, California) scored the first goal of the game in the 35th minute on an assist from Tyler Gahara (Hookset, New Hampshire) to put the Falcons up 1-0. Garaha netted the Falcons' second goal just before the half to give Fisher a 2-0 lead.

 

Minutes after the start of the second half senior midfielder Gary Maldonado (Lawrence, Massachusetts) took a pass from Pugliese and netted the shot to give the Falcons a 3-0 lead.  Moments later Valley Forge managed to get a shot past goalie Eliseu DiPena (Boston, Massachusetts) to cut Fisher's lead to 3-1.

 

Sophomore midfielder Robert Milne (Lenox, Massachusetts) put the icing on the cake for the Falcons scoring the fourth goal of the game on a pass from Maldonado to make to 4-1 Fisher as time expired.

 

With the win DiPena earned his sixth victory of the season with three saves in four shots on goal.

 

The Falcons return to action in the second game of a double header Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 6 p.m. at Hormel Stadium in Medford, Massachusetts.
