Men’s Soccer Team Works 1-1 Draw

Takoma Park, Maryland – Despite stellar defensive play, the Fisher College men's soccer team worked a 1-1 tie with conference foe Washington Adventist University Saturday evening.

With the no-decision, Fisher moves to 5-4-3 on the season, while WAU moves to 2-6-2.

After 28 minutes scoreless minutes to open the game, a Falcon mishap allowed WAU to take a 1-0 advantage over the Falcons.

Heading into half-time with a 1-0 lead, WAU was overpowering Fisher in shots 10-4.

Not dissuaded by their costly first-half gaffe, the Falcons turned up the offensive tempo in the second half.

With just over 10 minutes left in the game, Tyler Gahara (Hookset, New Hampshire) netted a shot unassisted to put the Falcons back in the game.

Fisher won the second half, not only scoring a goal, but outshooting the Shock 11-9. Unfortunately, the clock ran out on the Falcons' late rally, leading to a 1-1 tie at the end of regulation.

In the first overtime, the Falcons continued their pressure and again outshot the WAU 5-3.

However, the Falcons weren't able to net an overtime goal, and the game ended with no decision.

The Falcons look to bounce back when they take on the University of Valley Forge on Monday, Oct. 12 at 4 p.m. in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.
