Falcons Outsoar Hawks 2-0

LEICESTER, Mass. --- The Becker College men's soccer team lost 2-0 to visiting Fisher College on Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Field in Leicester.

The first half saw both teams come up just short in scoring opportunities, and they went into halftime still tied 0-0. It was the first time on the season the Hawks had not allowed a goal in the opening period.

In the 63rd minute, Fisher senior forward Tyler Gahara (Hookett, N.H. / Pembroke Academy) finally broke the stalemate, scoring off a put-back to put the Falcons up 1-0. A penalty kick with 3:22 left from Gahara provided the final score, as the Falcons of Fisher (4-2) claimed the win.

For the Hawks of Becker (0-7), freshman midfielder Matthew Hillsberg (Burlington, Conn. / Lewis S. Mills) had a team-high three shots.

Becker sophomore goalkeeper Devin Ramos (Warwick, R.I. / Pilgrim), who at press time was second in the nation in saves per game, finished with seven stops. Fisher freshman netminder Guerson Saintil (Haiti / Boston International) had six saves to record the shutout.

Becker will be back on the pitch on Saturday when they travel to Newbury College for a 2:00 p.m. NECC game. Fisher will host Washington Adventist College on Saturday at 9:00 p.m.
