Falcons Battered by Lions 3-0

Medford, Mass.-  The Fisher College men's soccer team hosted Emerson College in a mid-week NAIA-NCAA match-up Wednesday evening at Hormel Stadium where the Lions were victorious 3-0.  With the loss, the Falcons drop to 7-9 on the season while the Lions move to 5-10 on the season.

The Lions opened up the scoring in the 4th minute when Duncan Bochicchio took a shot on the goalie who deflected it, but Bochicchio followed his kick and sent the ball back towards the net and sunk it in the corner.

Although Fisher outshot the Lions 11-10 in the first half, time expired before the Falcons could get on the board and the teams went into half-time with the Lions leading 1-0.

In the 53rd minutes, Bochicchio stepped up for the Lions to take a penalty kick against Falcons' goaltender Eliseau DiPena who caused the foul inside the box.  Bochicchio set up the ball at the PK marker and put the ball in the back of the net to give the Lions a 2-0 lead over the Falcons.

Fisher had many opportunities to put a mark on the board, but couldn't catch a break shooting just wide on several shots.  Emerson added one more goal in the 67th minutes to go up 3-0 over Fisher.

DiPena took the loss in net for the Falcons making 4 saves and allowing 3 goals.  Guerson Santil relieved DiPena in the 72nd minute, but received a no decision.

The Falcons will return to action on Saturday, October 29 at 3:00 p.m. at Hormel Stadium when they play host to The King's College of New York.  The men will play in the second game of a men's and women's soccer doubleheader Saturday.
