Medford, Mass. -- Fisher College was back in action on Sunday, October 1 as they played host to the University of Maine at Presque Isle. The Falcons improve their overall record to 3-5 with the 4-1 victory over the Owls (2-7).
The first half of the game was dominated by the Falcons offense who pressured UMPI's defenders consistently. Freshman Ilias Beriane gave the Falcons their first lead of the game on a pass from Matthew Miller in the 25th minute to go up 1-0. Robert Milne then gave the Falcons a 2-0 lead over the Owls on a pass from Beriane to Kervens Surpris to Milne who finished the run.
At the half, Fisher held a 2-0 lead over UMPI.
The Owls cut the Fisher lead to 2-1 just minutes into the second half. Minutes later, Fisher's offense was taken down in the box with a foul earning a penalty kick. Edson Bazil was elected by his teammates to take the penalty kick, which was successful giving the Falcons a 3-1 lead. Surpris and Beriane were back again as a dinamic-duo to give the Falcons a 4-1 lead in the 67th minutes.
Time expired and the Falcons walked away with the 4-1 victory over the Owls. The Falcons out shot the Owls 32-9 throughout the game.
Eliseu DiPena earned the victory in net making 3 saves with 4 shots on goal. Matt Manter took the loss for the Owls making 16 saves with 19 shots on goal.
The Falcons will return to action on Wednesday, October 4 vs. the University of Maine at Machias. First touch is slated for 4:00 p.m. concluding the women's match.
