Second Half Dominance Lifts Falcons Over the Clippers

Medford, Mass. -- Fisher College's men's soccer team came from behind to take a 4-2 victory over the Clippers of the University of Maine Machias (UMM).  The Falcons are now 4-5 on the season while UMM has dropped to 5-5-1.

The Clippers scored first in the 20th minutes to take a quick 1-0 lead over the Falcons.

Fisher retaliated withing three minutes to knot the game at 1-1 by senior duo Matthew Miller and Robert Milne with only 23 minutes played in the game.  UMM continued to pressure the Falcons and got one passed goalkeeper Chris Garcia to take a 2-1 lead over the Falcons.  Gabriel Marquez took a pass from Ilias Beriane to knot the game yet again 2-2.

Time expired closing out the first half with the score at 2-2.  UMM outshot the Falcons in the first half, putting a lot of pressure on the defense taking 17 shots to Fisher's 14.  

The second half was dominated by the Falcons out scoring the Clippers 2-0.  The Falcons defense made some impressive stops in the match holding the Clippers to 3 shots in the half.  Diego Serani and Edson Bazil scored for the Falcons giving the team a 4-2 lead over UMM.  After the 90 minutes had expired, the Falcons walked away with a hard earned victory.

Garcia earned the victory in net for the Falcons making 14 saves and only allowing 2 goals.  Cameron Atherton took the loss for the Clippers making 12 saves and allowing 4 goals.

The Falcons are off for a couple of days before heading to Franklin, Mass. to take on the Bulldogs of Dean College in a men's and women's double header.
