Falcons Fall in NIAC Match-Up 5-0

Medford, Mass. – Fisher College lost to a tough NIAC opponent in a conference match-up to the University of Maine at Fort Kent on Tuesday evening by a score of 4-0.  The Falcons drop to 4-7-1 on the season while the Bengals improve to 12-1.

The Falcons had a strong defensive effort in the first half.  In the 29th minute, James Hone-Blanchet scored for the Bengals to put the visitors on the board.  With 23 shots, UMFK dominated the first half, but were held to a narrow 1-0 lead going into halftime.

After the break, the Bengals came out roaring.  In the 47th minute Fort Kent added to their lead over the Falcons 2-0 on another Hone-Blanchet goal.  Shawn Genus added two more goals for the Bengals to seal the 4-0 victory over the Falcons.

Eliseau DiPena took the loss in the net for the Falcons making 12 saves and allowing 4 goals.  Felipe Barandiaran came in for the Falcons with 21 minutes remaining making 2 more saves.  Ahkeim Forbes earned a shutout victory for the Bengals making 2 saves.  Glenroy Osbourne entered the game with 25 minutes remaining and added a save for UMFK.

The Falcons will return to action tomorrow, Wednesday October 17 at 5:00 p.m. when they play host to the Bates College Bobcats at Hormel Stadium in Medford, Mass.  The match will serve as Fan Appreciation Day as well as Senior Day.
