Fisher Falls to SUNY Delhi in NIAC Semi-Final; 4-0

Medford, Mass. --   The Fisher College men's soccer team concluded their season Saturday afternoon after falling to SUNY Delhi 4-0 in the NIAC Conference semi-final game.  Delhi improves to 9-7 on the season and will play against UMaine -Fort Kent in the NIAC Conference final on Sunday afternoon.

SUNY Delhi opened the scoring in the second minute taking a quick 1-0 lead over the Falcons.  Matthew Cassidy added another goal for the Broncos to take a 2-0 lead over Fisher. 

Fisher pressured the Bronco defense in the first half taking seven shots to Delhi's five, but was unable to put a point on the board.  With time expiring in the first half, the Broncos held onto a 2-0 lead heading into the break. 

After the quick intermission, both teams continued to battle hard, but Delhi finished on top.  Griffin Metzko took a throw in for Delhi tossing the ball just over the Fisher goalie.  With the ball being tipped by the goalie and landing in the net, the toss was good for a goal to put Delhi up 3-0.  Austin Hutchins added the fourth goal for Delhi in the 87th minute to secure the victory over Fisher.

Due to an injury in the 50th minute, Fisher goalkeeper Christopher Garcia was replaced by Felipe Barandiaran.  Garcia took the loss in net making three saves and allowing two goals.  Marcos Andrino earned the victory for Delhi making four saves and earned a shutout in net against the Falcons.

The Falcons have concluded their season with the loss to Delhi who advances to the NIAC Final against the University of Maine at Fort Kent Sunday at 12:00 p.m.
