The Falcons Fall To The University of Maine-Fort Kent For The Second Time This Season, 5-0

Medford, MA- The Falcons (3-8-2) were looking for some revenge tonight against the Bengals (11-5-2), a team that defeated them back in September, 6-0.  But they came up empty against a very strong Fort Kent squad, who has now won 11 games this season.

The Bengals got on the board within two minutes of the first half as they used their impressive speed up front to beat the Falcons defense.  Shawn Genus (Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica) put away a smooth pass through the middle from Damion Rankine (Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica) to put their team up 1-0 early on.  The Falcons settled down and were able to keep the Bengals offense at bay for the next twenty minutes as the senior defensemen David Serrano (Val Verde, CA), Andrew Leveillee (Coventry, RI), and Carlos Acevedo (Everett, MA) played tough in front of the net.  A scramble in front of the net at the 25 minute mark put the visitor's up 2-0 when Rodney Witter (Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica) put a hard shot on goal that Falcons keeper Eliseu DePina (Dorchester, MA) was able to knock away, but Bengals forward Lewis Cockburn (Edinburgh, Scotland) found the richochet at his feet that he put into the net.  The Falcons had their best scoring opportunity just before halftime as Acevedo was able to get a shot off, but it was wide left so the two teams went into halftime 2-0.

Fisher put some pressure on the Bengals coming out of halftime and Aram Kaya (Waltham, MA) had a hard shot in front of the net blocked to keep it knotted at 2-0.  The Bengals scored two goals within two minutes of each other at the 62nd and 64th minute as Miguel Barnaby and Genus found the back of the net to put their team up 4-0.  The Falcons did not give up as shots from Leonardo Mildor (Pompano Beach, FL) and Steven Jagba (Boston, MA) were both on net, but couldn't find the score.  Fort Kent put an exclamation point on the win in the last minute as Lovel Jones (Montego Bay, Jamaica) crossed the ball from the left side of the field where Luke Wentland (Manchester, United Kingdom) was waiting to finish with a one-touch kick into the net.  Falcons keeper, DePina, played well for the Falcons, making some impressive saves for the day (9).

The Falcons have ten days to rest and will finish off their season with a home doubleheader on Saturday and Sunday, October 27 and 28, and will look for their 4th win of the season.
