Men's Soccer Finishes The Regular Season In Record Breaking Fashion

Boston, MA- The Men's Soccer team has turned a lot of heads this season. With a first-year coach and a roster full of new players the future was unknown for the Falcons. But Coach Kyle Yelin and his Falcons finished the regular season on Sunday, and with the win finished the 2019 campaign with a 9-6-2 record. The nine wins is the most for a Falcons squad since its inception, having occurred just once in the 2015 season.

The key to the Falcons success this season was the depth in scoring and their defense. Eleven different Falcons tallied a goal this season, a feat that has never been done before. The Falcons also held their opponents to just 32 goals this season, the lowest allowed in school history. Netminder, junior Christopher Garcia (Rowland Heights, CA), was the anchor for the defense, having his best season as Falcons to date. In his 2019 campaign he finished with 85 saves, and a goals allowed percentage of just 2.0, which puts him second on the all-time list in that category. The Fisher offense was led this season by rookie sensation Andree Molina (El Paso, TX) who finished the season with 32 points, which puts him tied for 5th in the Falcons record book for points in a season. Molina notched a point in all but five games this season and was also chosen as the AII Player of the Week. Jonathan Collins (Southwick, MA) who played just about every position this season, finished second on the squad in points with 12.

The Falcons post season hopes are still alive as they await the announcement of the AII Conference playoffs which are set to take place at Georgia Gwinnett on the weekend of November 15-16.
