Bellevue University Takes One From the Falcons 18-5

Clermont, FL – The Falcons of Fisher College dropped their second game of the day falling to Bellevue University 18-5.

 

Fisher struck first as senior Morgan Selmi started off the game with a bang hitting a homerun to left centerfield giving the Falcons a 1-0 lead. With two outs in the inning, Becky Collison singled to center, but the Falcons failed to capitalize.

 

Bellevue's offense was hot from the start as they came right back at Fisher with eight runs of their own in the bottom of the first inning. Then the Bruins would add to their lead by scoring seven more runs in the second inning to give them a 15-1 lead.

 

The Falcons refused to give up as they bounced back with four runs of their in the top of the third inning. With two outs, senior Kristina Brown and junior Becky Collison had back-to-back RBI doubles.  Corrie Edstrom then capped off the rally with a two-run shot of her own, making that her first homerun of the season and cutting the Bellevue lead to 15-5.

 

Pitcher Taylor Rowley took her second loss of the season, while striking out one. The Falcons look to bounce back as they take on Indiana Wesleyan Tuesday at 1 p.m.
