Fisher Closes Day Three with a Loss to Trinity Christian

Clermont, FL – The Trinity Christian softball team defeated the Fisher College, bringing the Falcons record to 0-6 on the season. The Trolls won the game in five innings with the final score being 23-3.

 

Junior Katie Shoulta and senior Emily Phillips led the charge for the Trolls both going 4-for-4 and driving in five runs a piece. 

 

After Trinity Christian struck first by scoring nines runs in the first two innings, the Falcons got on the board in the bottom half of the second.

 

With two outs in the bottom of the second inning, the Fisher bats began to heat up after freshman Tatum Mahoney walked.  Sophomore Luz Evangelista followed with a run-scoring double putting Fisher on the board.

 

Sophomore Maria Rivera banged her first home run of the season with a two-run shot knocking in Evangelista.

 

Senior Kristina Brown led the Falcons offensively on the day going 3-for-3. Evangelista also had a productive game going 2-for-2 with a run batted in. Fisher senior Morgan Selmi and freshman Corrie Edstrom both contributed with base knocks of their own.

 

Mikayla Zimmerman started for the Falcons and picked up the loss in the circle.  The Falcons look to get on the winning track jumping back early tomorrow morning taking on Bellevue University at 8:00 a.m.
