Nyak Halts Fisher 9-0

Clermont, FL – The Nyack College softball team defeated the Fisher College Falcons by the score of 9-0, as Fisher could not overcome some defensive mistakes. 

 

Early in the first inning, the Falcons fell into a hole as an error loaded the bases with no outs. The Warriors capitalized putting four runs on the board and never looked back.

 

Fisher junior Becky Collison managed to get a hit on the afternoon, while leadoff hitter Morgan Selmi reached base twice on walks.  The Falcons struggled to get more runners on base to close the Warriors lead.

 

Fisher starting pitcher Taylor Rowley gave up seven runs, but only two were earned. However, Rowley managed to pick up a seasnon high four strike outs. Mikayla Zimmerman pitched an inning in relief for the Falcons.

 

The Falcons are now 0-8 on the season and have their final two games of their Florida trip Thursday, March 9 at 3:30 p.m. against Grace College and 8:30 p.m. against Trinity Christan College.
