The Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) announced on Monday that Georgia Gwinnett's Katie Jo Goodwin was named Pitcher of the Week while Fisher's Mikayla Zimmerman was tabbed as the A.I.I.'s Player of the Week for the duration of March 27- April 2.

Goodwin, a senior from Stockbridge, Ga., posted a 1.91 ERA over 11 innings of work, improving to 10-0 on the season.  Goodwin allowed just three runs on 12 hits in two appearances as No. 5 Georgia Gwinnett improved to 33-5-1 on the season with doubleheader sweeps of Faulkner (Ala.) and Bryan (Tenn.).  Monday's selection is Goodwin's third A.I.I. Pitcher of the Week honor in 2017, winning in three consecutive weeks.

Zimmerman, a junior from Corona, Calif., guided Fisher (Mass.) to its first victory of 2017 as the Falcons split their doubleheader action against Rivier (N.H.).  Zimmerman went 5-for-9 at the plate, posting a .556 batting average and 1.333 slugging percentage.  She accounted for 14 of Fisher's 28 runs, driving in 11 fellow Falcons with two singles, two triples, and a home run.  Zimmerman also scored on three occasions.
