Coach Katie Zuman is headed into her second fall as the Head Softball Coach and Sports Information Director. Zuman brings a historic pedigree to the softball program. She was previously the Head Softball Coach at Mount Ida College, having taken over the program in 2008, where she also served as the Assistant Coach in 2005 and 2006.

In her tenure as Head Coach, the Mustangs amassed a record of 137-253 in a very competitive Great Northeast Athletic Conferece.  Zuman has directed 15 different players to GNAC all-conference honors along with a berth into their first ever trip to the GNAC post-season tournament in 2010 and return trips to the playoffs in 2015 and 2016.  Her team also finished with the highest GPA across all sports last spring with a team GPA of 3.65, as well as having coached over 35 NFCA Scholar Athletes in her tenure at Mount Ida. Coach Zuman has also coached at the ASA level for the Mass Pressure, as well as working many youth softball and recruiting camps to include Catherdal High School, Energy No Limit Softball and Wheaton Softball clinics. 

A 2001 Wheaton College graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, Zuman played shortstop and centerfield for the Lyons.  As a captain in her senior year, she helped lead her team to an impressive 42-9 record along with a 3rd place finish in the NCAA Division III College World Series. She was a two-time Regional All-American, the New 8 Rookie of the Year, NEWMAC All Conference, NEISCA All-Star and an ECAC All-Star.  She is also in the top ten in the Wheaton softball record book for runs scored (138), hits (189), doubles (34), triples (9), and stolen bases (44).  In 1999, Zuman hit two home runs in the same inning against Babson College, which is still tied for the NCAA Division III record.

Upon graduation from Wheaton, Zuman attended Springfield College receiving her master's degree in Sport Management where she also gained experience as a coach, earning Graduate Assistant position with the Varsity and JV softball teams. 

She resides with her family in Franklin, MA.
