BOSTON, MASS. – The Fisher College Department of Athletics is pleased to announce the hiring of Rachel Bere as the College's Head Softball Coach. She becomes the 13th head coach in the program's history and this is her first coaching job at the college level.

"I am excited to announce the hiring of our new Head Softball Coach, Rachel Bere." Fisher College Athletic Director Scott Dulin said. "Rachel brings with her a winning mentality, great goals and a solid plan to achieve them. Under her guidance, I do not think it will take long to get this program to where it needs to be."

Previously, Bere has spent five years coaching softball at the travel ball level with running teams from 14U to 18U. Over her tenure as the Head Coach for her teams, she developed systems to enhance the fundamental softball skills for her players along with implementing new strategies to help broaden the game knowledge of her athletes. Through this philosophy, her teams have been successful as they reached multiple championship games in tournament play and she also received an award as the winningest female head coach for the program with an overall record of 22-7 in 2015.

"I am honored and excited to lead the Fisher Softball program and I would like to thank Scott Dulin and the search committee for giving me this incredible opportunity, " Bere stated. "I am thrilled to join Fisher's diverse campus community, one which improves lives by providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary for a lifetime of intellectual and professional pursuits. I cannot wait to build our softball program to reflect the College's mission, and I am eager to get started on this journey with the current and future student-athletes, alumni and supporters of the program."

Bere was a four-year standout for the Regis College softball team during her time in Weston, Mass. She appeared in 143 games for the Pride, accumulating 86 hits and 37 runs batted in. In her senior season, Bere batted .278 with nine doubles and struck out only eleven times in 108 at-bats as the starting third-baseman. She graduated in 2011 with her Bachelor of Science in Health & Fitness Studies with a concentration in Sports Management & English. While at Regis, Bere was a dean's list student and on the honor society along with graduating Cum Laude.

Work begins immediately for Bere as she inherits a softball program that has only played eleven games over the last two seasons due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. Interested student-athletes can reach Coach Bere at 617-670-4528 or rbere@fisher.edu.
