Raiders eclipse the 100 point mark in win over Falcons

Nashua, NH -  Freshman Deanna Purcell (Hudson, NH) scored 17 points and four other Raiders recorded double-digit nights as Rivier College coasted to a 101-44 victory over Fisher College.

This was the 7th straight game that Deanna Purcell has reached double digit point mark as she currently leads the team in scoring with 135 on the season.

Rivier (5-2 overall) jumped out to a 19 point lead, 21-2 run, to begin the game and never looked back. They put up their highest first half total of the season, 58 points while limiting the Falcons (0-10) to just 19.

Rivier shot over 57% from the floor in the first half and finished with a 54.5% for the game. Fisher checked in at 25.7% shooting percentage.

Sophomore Erin Sweeney (Chicopee, MA) had a stellar night as she contributed 15 points off the bench. Also adding double digit performances were sophomores Ryan Baker (Whitinsville, MA) and Jaclyn Penniman (Dudley, MA) who had 13 and 12 points respectively. Every Raider who appeared in the game recorded at least two points.

For Fisher, sophomore Javanna Bernard (Waterbury, CT) continues to shine bright as she led the team, and game, with 18 points. Senior Amanda Davis (Dos Palos, CA) scored 12 points and pulled down a game high, 14 rebounds to record a double-double.

 Next up for Fisher will be a return trip to Nashua, NH on Thursday to take on Daniel Webster College in a 7pm affair.
