Fisher scores season high 66 points, but not enough in loss to Wilberforce

Wilberforce, OH - Fisher scored a season high 66 points but it wasn't enough as they fell to the Wilbeforce University Bulldogs, 84-66 in American Mideast Conference play.  The Falcons had four players in double figures, led by sophomore Javanna Bernard (Waterbury, CT) who finished with 24 points.

The game was won in the second half with the Falcons only trailing 38-34 at the break.  Fisher shot 46.9% from the field in the first half (15-32) with the Bulldogs only shooting 38.1% (16-42) but 14 turnovers allowed Wilbeforce the advantage at the break.

Playing two games in two days caught up to Fisher in the second half as Wilbeforce was able to extend their four point lead.  The Bulldogs forced Fisher into shooting only 33.3% (10-30) and outscored the falcons 46-32 in the second half.

Amanda Davis (Dos Palos, CA) led the Falcons with 14 rebounds to go along with 14 points.  Makenzi Peeler (Boston, MA) also contributed a double-double with 13 points and 10 boards.  Pamala Bounkhoune (Fresno, CA) was the fourth Falcons in double figures, ending the game with 13 points.

Wilberforce was paced by Danisha Brown's 22 points.  Tiara Roberts and Diamond Wright added 15 and 14 points respectively, while Danielle Lewis pulled down 13 rebounds on the afternoon.

Fisher's bench was outscored 20-0 by the Bulldogs on the afternoon.

The Falcons return to action next Saturday, the 17th, when they travel to Providence, Rhode Island to take on Johnson & Wales University.  Fisher doesn't return home until after the new year when Houghton College arrives in the Boston area for a January 4th American Mideast Conference tilt.
