Falcons finish season with loss to UMA

The Fisher College Women's Basketball team finished their 2011-2012 season last night with a defeat at the hands of the University of Maine- Augusta Moose.  Fisher shot just 21% in the 65-35 loss with marked the final game in senior Talia Hyatt's career.

The undermanned Falcons had no answer for the visitors inside game and UMA's Katie Poirier finished with 18 points on 9-19 shooting.  When Poirier wasn't scoring in the paint, she was controlling the boards, finishing with a game high 26 rebounds.

The Falcons were led by sophomore Javanna Bernard's 23 points on 9-27 shooting.  With the loss of junior guard Pamela Bounhkoune, who missed the final three games on the season with a torn ACL, the Falcons had trouble getting into their offensive and at times saw their set plays stall. Fisher finished with 17 turnovers to only six assists.

Senior Talia Hyatt finished with six points in her 99th game for the Falcons.  She matched a career high 17 rebounds in the losing effort and also had three assists, three steals, and two blocks.

The Falcons finished their season with a 0-30 record, 0-12 in the American Mideast Conference.
