The Fisher Women's basketball team dropped their season opener 78-48 to visiting Maine-Machias on Saturday November 3^rd.

Maine – Machias got off the a fast start, scoring the first 8 points of the game but a lay-up by Shakieya Roland-Drake tied the game 10-10 with 14 minutes to go in the first half. Over the next 8 minutes Machias would increase their lead to 10 and entered the half time break with a 41-31 lead.

 The Lady Falcons opened up the 2^nd half with six straight points, cutting the deficit in half but their luck would run out as the visitors would outscore the Lady Falcons 37-11 in the final 18 minutes.

Maine – Machias was passed by an outstanding 34 point, 27 rebounds effort by Yvanessa Vicent.  The Lady Falcons were led by 2011-2012 leading scorer Javanna Bernard's 20 points.  Bernard also contributed 10 rebounds and 4 steals in the loss.

The Lady Falcons return to action on Wednesday, November 7^th when Vermont Tech visits Fectau-Leary Gym for a 6pm tip off.
