Lady Falons Soar Past UMFK Lady Bengals

Lynn, MA – The Lady Falcons overcame a 1st half deficit to earn a hard fought 73-60 victory over the visiting University of Maine – Fort Kent Lady Bengals Sunday afternoon at Fectau-Leary Gymnasium.

With the victory the Lady Falcons improve to 2-4 on the year while UMFK drips to 2-2.  The 13 points win is Fisher's 1st victory over Maine – Fort Kent in program history.

Senior Javana Bernard led all scorers with 22 points on 9-23 shooting.  Classmate Porsha Grayson  added 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Despite trailing 35-30 at half, the Lady Falcons managed to overcome the deficit and outscore the visitors 43-25 in the final 20 minutes.

UMFK held a 51-47 rebounding advantage but the Lady Falcons were able to force 23 turnovers while only surrounding 10 of their own.  Fisher capitalized for 26 points off turnovers while Fort Kent managed only seven.

Frehman Alexis Akridge added 16 points and 8 rebounds while Breanna Brown and Christine Briggs had 9 and 8 points, respectively.

The Lady Falcons return to action Wednesday December 4th when they travel to Rivier University for a 6PM tip- off.
