Falcons Cruise to Victory of Maine-Machias

The Fisher College Falcons cruised to an easy victory of the University of Maine-Machias Friday night at Fectau-Leary Gymnasium in Lynn, Massachusetts. The Falcons improved to 4-8 on the season with the 91-44 victory while the visiting Clippers fell to 2-7.

The Falcons jumped out to an early lead when Murphy Carroll (Methuen, MA) knocked down a three-pointer from the wing on Fisher's first possession of game. The Falcons continued to shoot lights out over the course of the first 20 minutes, leading to a 64-14 halftime lead.

Carroll led all scorers with 24 first half points while freshman Aliyanah McIntosh (Brooklyn, NY) chipped in 20 points. The Falcons shot 60 percent (27-45) from the floor over the first two quarters, including 9-16 (56.3%) from behind the arc.

The 3rd Quarter started just like the first two with a Fisher three-pointer to open up the scoring. The Falcons continued their offensive dominance, adding another 21 points in the quarter and led 85-31 heading into the 4th and final quarter.

The fourth quarter was a low scoring affair due in a part to the game being called early after a UMM player suffered a serious leg injury.

Murphy Carroll's 14 2nd half points led to a career high 38 from the sophomore. McIntosh finished with 22 points while Nakeeya Bodie-Smith (Fitchburg, MA) added 14.

The Falcons finished 36-for-80 (45%) from the field and 12-of-30 (40%) from three. The Falcons also held a 48-43 rebounding.

Fisher's 91 points fell just a points shy of setting a new program recorded, almost surpassing the mark of 92 points score on November 23rd in a victory over Green Mountain College.

The Falcons return to action Tuesday evening when they travel to Vaughn College in Brooklyn, New York.
