CSJ's Steele overpowers the Falcons
Lynn, Mass. – College of Saint Joseph's Regina Steele dominated the Falcons defense with 21 point 20 rebounds to secure the 89-63 victory over Fisher College Wednesday evening at Fecteau-Leary Gymnasium in Lynn, Massachusetts.

Steele went 9-of-12 from the floor and 3-for-4 from the free throw line to continue their victorious season with their 15th win on the season. The victory improves College of Saint Joseph's to 15-1 on the season while the Falcons fall to 5-11.

Fisher struggled for the first quarter, but were able to manage a strong second quarter out-scoring the Saints 27-24. The Saints held a 53-34 half time lead and were able to hold the lead for the remainder of the game, but the Falcons remained in the game only getting out scored 36-29 in the second half.

CSJ also received solid efforts from Mookie Kennedy and Jazz Laracuente. Kennedy finished the game with 19 points on 8-of-20 shooting while Laracuente also added 19 points gong 7-of-16 on the floor.

The Falcons were paced by Chrissy Briggs (Rumford, Maine) and Madison Carroll (Methuen, Mass.). Briggs finished with 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting while Ma. Carroll was 5-for-15, good for 16 points.  Jillian Williams (Berlin, N.H.) dominated defensively for the Falcons grabbing eight defensive rebounds to finish with a team-high 11 rebounds.

The Eagles outshot the Falcons 42.9% (36-84) to 38.1% (24-63) and held a 47-39 rebounding advantage.

Fisher returns to action Sunday, January 31 when they host the University of Maine- Fort Kent for a 11 a.m. tip-off in the Fectuea-Leary Gymnasium in Lynn, Mass. CSJ is back at it on Saturday, January 30 when they travel to the University of Maine Augusta to take on the University of Maine- Machias.
