Briggs’, Williams’ double-doubles conquer Knights

Lynn, Mass.- Senior Chrissy Briggs (Rumford, Maine) and freshman Jillian Williams dominate with double-doubles to push the Falcons to their 6th victory over Vermont Technical College 96-28.

Fisher College jumps to 6-11 on the season with the victory over the Knights who drop to 4-17on the season after the defeat.

Five Falcons reached double digit scoring including Briggs and Williams with double-doubles, 14 points and 12 rebounds for Briggs while Williams scored 13 points and grabbed 13 boards.  Murphy Carroll (Methuen, Mass.), Madison Carroll (Methuen, Mass.), and NaKeeya Goodman-Boddie Smith (Fitchburg, Mass.) all reached double digits with 22 points, 19 points, and 12 points respectively.  Other offensive contributors were Sasha Coombs (Windsor, Conn.) and Camila Da Silva (Everett, Mass.) both adding eight points. 

The Falcons held on to a first-half lead of 53-17 before outscoring the Knights 43-11 in the second half to seal the victory.  Fisher finished shooting 40-of-88 (45.5%) in the paint, 6-of-19 (31.6%) from behind the arc, and 10-of-12 (83.3%) from the free-throw line.

Fisher College will return to action Thursday evening when they play host to Boston Common foe Emerson College for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off in the Fecteau-Leary Gymnasium in Lynn, Mass.  Vermont Tech has a few days off before hosting Pine Manor College on Saturday, February 6 at 3:00 p.m.
