Five Falcons hit double-digits in 87-22 victory

Randolph Center, Vt. – On the last day of the Vermont Tech. Classic, the Falcons took home their second victory of the two-day classic with a dominating win over host Vermont Tech.  Fisher improved to 5-7 on the season with the 87-22 victory while the Knights drop to 4-12 with the loss.

Junior Murphy Carroll led the team with a season high 26-points while grabbing three rebounds.  Skylar Robinson followed with 17 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double.

The Falcons opened up with a quick 9-0 lead over the Knights forcing the first timeout of the game.  Knight player Olivia Reynolds hit a jumper to put Vermont Tech on the board, 9-2.  The fourth consecutive 3-pointer for the Falcons resulted in a 12-2 lead for Fisher.  Fisher then went on a 17-point run to close out the first quarter with a 29-8 lead.

The Falcons again dominated the second quarter scoring 30 points led by Chrissy Briggs with 9 points and four rebounds.  The Knights managed to put up 4-points in the quarter passed the Falcons defense. 

With a 50.0% shooting percentage throughout the game, the Falcons were able to take the 87-22 victory from the Knights.  Fisher hit 11 3-point shots during the game including four from both Murphy Carroll and Aliyanah McIntosh

Robinson and Briggs both finished with double-doubles scoring 17 and 11 points, respectively.  Briggs however dominated with 17 boards while Robinson had 12.  Murphy Carroll (26 points), McIntosh (16 points), and Madison Carroll (13 points) were key players in the victory.

The Falcons will return to action on Saturday, January 14 when they head to Franklin, Mass. to take on Dean College in a men's and women's double-header.  The women's tip-off will be at 1:00 p.m.
