Fisher falls to Dean 78-59

Franklin, MASS.- The Dean College Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead against Fisher College on Saturday and never looked back, cruising to a 78-59 victory.

The Bulldogs were led by a great performance from Sophomore guard Iindia Pina who led all scorers with 21 points.  She also added 10 rebounds, 7 asissts and 6 steals.

Dean jumped out early, leading 10-5 halfway through the 1st quarter and 26-15 with just under a minute remaining.  A three pointer from Fisher's Skylar Robinson cut the Bulldogs lead to 8 (26-18) going into the second quarter.

Pina made a layup to start the second.  Two free throws and a triple from Chelsea Johnson pushed the Bulldogs lead 37-26 halfway through the second quarter.  Three straight hoops for the Bulldogs, two from Pina and one from Dana Jackson, stretched Dean's lead to 49-33 going into the half.

Fisher battled throughout the third quarter but Dean kept pace.  Skyler Robinson and Aliyanah McIntosh, who both had 17 for the falcons, kept their team in the game as they headed into the fourth.

Two buckets from Pina to start the final frame ballooned the lead to 70-49 and Dean coasted to a victory.

Chelsea Johnson scored 15, on 3-4 from 3 point range, and Fataya Larry aded 14 points and 10 boards.  Dean had 15 points from their bench, with Dana Jackon, Farrah Beatty, Amanda Miressi, and Jennefer Lang all contributing.

In addition to Robinson and McIntosh's 17 points, Fisher was also led by 15 points from Murhy Carroll.
