Women’s Basketball Takes a Victory from Fighting Saints 76-62

Lynn, Mass. -- Fisher College women's basketball jumped back above .500 (5-4) with a victory over the College of Saint Joseph (1-4) on Wednesday evening.  The Falcons earned the 76-62 victory in the NIAC conference matchup.

After CSJ took a quick 2-0 lead on two free throws, there was a two and a half minute drought before either team put a point on the board.  Murphy Carroll opened the scoring for the Falcons with a layup to tie the game 2-2.  Fisher took their first lead on a made layup by Murphy Carroll, 7-5.  The Falcons went on a 17-10 run to close out the first quarter with a 24-15 lead.

Fisher was able to maintain their lead throughout the second quarter, but the Fighting Saints came within an arm's reach of stealing the game.  The second quarter closed out with the Falcons leading 40-28 over the Fighting Saints.

After the halftime break, the Fighting Saints hit the court recharged and ready to dominate against the Falcons.  CSJ outscored the Falcons 15-11, but were unable to take the lead of the game. 

The Falcons were able to bounce back in the fourth quarter to outscore CSJ 25-19 to secure their victory.  A 7-2 run finalized the game in Fisher's favor with the score finalizing at 76-62.

Madison Carroll paced the Falcons with a double-double, 26 points and 10 rebounds.  Murphy Carroll (22 points, 7 rebounds) and Choon-Hee Chae (15 points, 7 rebounds) were other key players in the Falcons victory.

Fisher will have a few days off before they host Coast Guard Academy on Monday, December 4 at the Fecteau-Leary Gymnasium in Lynn, Mass. at 7:00 p.m.
