Falcons Prey on Wildcats 75-69

Lynn, Mass. – Fisher College took a 75-69 victory from Penn College on Sunday, December 10.  The Falcons improve to 7-5 on the season while Penn College drops to 1-9 on the season.

Penn College struck first, jumping to a 6-2 lead over the Falcons, but moments later, a free throw by Murphy Carroll put the Falcons up 9-8.  The Wildcats took back the lead by one point 10-9 with 5:16 left in the first quarter.  Penn went on a 9-4 run to take a 19-13 lead heading into the first break of the game. 

Fisher opened the second quarter going on a 10-0 run to take a 23-19 lead over the Wildcats.  The Falcons held onto their lead during the second quarter going up 10-points for a 36-26 lead closing out the first half of the game.

The second half of the game remained in favor of Fisher.   In the last minute of the game, Penn College cut Fisher's larger lead to four points, 71-67.  Fisher expanded their lead to 73-67 on two free throws by Jocelyn MendozaMurphy Carroll then hit two free throws to put Fisher up 75-67.  Penn College took the last shot of the game to cut the lead to 6 points, but Fisher walked away with the 75-69 victory.

Choon-Hee Chae pace the Falcons with a game-high 23 points and grabbed two boards for the Falcons.  Murphy Carroll added 18 points while Madison Carroll and Mendoza added 14 points apiece in the victory.

Fisher will return to action on Tuesday, December 12 when they head to Rogers Recreation Center in Newport, Rhode Island to take on Salve Regina University at 7:00 p.m.
