Lady Falcons Earn A Split Against The BSC Bobcats On Opening Weekend

Buffalo, NY- The Women's Basketball team returned to Boston last evening with a 1-1 record, after earning a split over the weekend against the Bryant & Stratton Bobcats. On Saturday, the team fell to the BSC-Buffalo squad in a tight match, 69-64, but bounced back on Sunday afternoon defeating BSC-Rochester 59-41. 

In the first matchup against Buffalo, the Falcons hung tough through, trailing by three at the half. The third quarter proved to be the difference for the host though, as they used a 15-0 run to end the quarter opening up a 54-40 lead heading into the 4th. The Falcons tried to recover, but it was too late, falling 69-64. The Falcons were led over the weekend by senior guard Vivian Lara (Norwalk, CA) who tallied her first double-double of the season, notching 20 points and 11 boards in the loss on Saturday. She also added five steals in the loss. Senior forward Jenny-Lynn Eggers (Sonoma, CA) also played well under the basket, contributing with 15 points and six rebounds in the losing effort. Senior newcomer Angel Bernardi (Cloverdale, CA) played well for Coach Ford's team in her first career game as a Falcon, grabbing nine rebounds and adding six points. The Bobcats were led by Alissa Johnson who racked up 21 points leading her team to the program's first-ever victory. 

The Falcons bounced back in the Sunday afternoon contest with Rochester, building an early lead and never looking back, taking the game 59-41. Lara repeated a second-straight performance with 20+ points as she led all players with 22 points while adding eight rebounds.

Fisher will be back in action this weekend as they travel to NVU-Lyndon for the Northern Vermont University Tip-Off Classic. The first game is slated for a 5:30pm start on Friday afternoon. Catch all the action live here.
