Women's Basketball: Falcons soar to 30-point win over WAU

BOSTON, MASS. – Buoyed by a 17-4 run in the second quarter, the Fisher College Women's Basketball team earned an impressive 65-35 win over Association of Independent Institutions foe, Washington Adventist this evening at the Windsor School. The win lifts the Falcons to 12-11 on the season while the Shock fizzle to 11-10 on the year.

The Fisher defense was electric all night as they limited Washington Adventist to single digit scoring in each of the final three quarters.

Sophomore Shaniah Hazard (Providence, R.I.) registered the game's only double-double as she shot 5-for-9 from the floor in route to 14 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Jenny-Lynn Eggers (Sonoma, Calif.) was the game-high scorer with 18 points and junior Lauren Allen (Long Beach, Calif.) added 13 points in the win. Also finishing in double figures was senior Vivian Lara (Norwalk, Calif.), who ended her night with 11 points and five rebounds.

Washington Adventist saw freshman Sarah Shamdeen (Annandale, Va.) record the team-high of eight points while both junior Amber Morman (Cleveland, Tenn.) and freshman Nyelle Allen (Columbia, Md.) finish with six points. Allen also recorded the team-high of five rebounds in the loss.

Fisher will return to action on Tuesday night as they make the trip over the state line for a 7pm tip-off with Rivier University in Nashua, New Hampshire. Washington Adventist will travel to Trinity Washington University on Wednesday night for a 6pm affair.
