Lady Falcons Soar Past Pine Manor College, 7-0

BOSTON, MA- Ashley De Sousa (Hazlet, NJ) and Alicia Alex (Pepperell, MA) combined for six goals as the Lady Falcons of Fisher College cruised past the Pine Manor College Gators in non-conference action Saturday afternoon.  Fisher's 7-0 victory at Hormel Stadium improved the Lady Falcons to 2-3 on the year while Pine Manor dropped to 2-2 on the year.

De Sousa (Hazlet, NJ) opened the scoring 14 minutes in after carefully finish off a through ball from junior Alicia Alex. In the 26th minute, Alicia Alex got a goal of her own after being set up by sophomore Emily Smith (Oxford, NY). Smith finished the game with 3 assists.  The Lady Falcons were able to push their lead to 3-0 when De Sousa added her second in the 36th minute. Four minutes later the Lady Falcons netted their fourth goal of the half when Michelle Fabiano (Nashua, NH) slotted home a perfect cross by Alex.  The Lady Falcons closed out their first half offensive outburst in the 42nd minute when Alex secured her second goal of the game.  

Alex completed her hat trick in the 66th minute after an assist by Smith. De Sousa was able to match Alex's scoring mark with her 3rd goal in the 87th minute.

The Lady Falcons outshot Pine Manor College 37-2.  Fisher also managed 21 shots on goal advantage over their opponents.  Pine Manor's Natasha Kopystynsky (Senior/Johnsburg, IL) was able to save a game high 16 shots on goal. Freshman Kourtney Kellard (Danvers, MA) saved two  Pine Manor shots to record her first career clean sheet.

Ashley De Sousa's hat trick was her second in the last three games.  The sophomore forward set a school record with four goals in Tuesday's 5-1 victory over Daniel Webster College. The seven goal victory the largest in program history. With this win, the Lady Falcons have already doubled their total amount of wins from last year.

Pine Manor College are back in action against Green Mountain College at home on Sunday, September 15, 2013, while Fisher will have a week off before hosting Pine Manor College again on Sunday September 22, 2013 in the final match of this season's three game series.
