Lady Falcons fall to Hornets of Lyndon State on Senior Day, 2-1

BOSTON, MA- The Lady Falcons took the field at Hormel Stadium for their final home game of the season, Wednesday afternoon against the Hornets of Lyndon State. This marked the final home game in the careers of Seniors Deanna Morency (Auburn, ME) and Delia Brimmer (Simsbury, CT).

Lyndon State broke the scoreless tie in the 7th minute when Sarah Cornell score on a header off of a cross by Erika Lind.  The Lady Falcons tied the score at one to one in the 32nd minute when Sophomore Ashley De Sousa (Hazlet, NJ) scored her 16th goal of the season.  At halftime, the score was tied at 1.

The Hornets scored the go-ahead and final goal of the game in the Ritza Arias hit the back of the net after a pass from Cornell. Lyndon State outshot Fisher by a difference 26 to 8, while also having 9 corner kicks to the Lady Falcons zero. Morency was able to stop 11 of the 13 Hornet's shots on goal in her final home game.

The Lady Falcon will travel to Virginia for their next game is on Friday October 11, 2013 at 2:00 PM against Southern Virginia. Lyndon State's next game at home on Saturday October 12, 2013 at 12:00 PM against conference foe Castleton State.
