(Nashua, NH) The Rivier University Women's Soccer team received two goals from freshman Megan Caron (Tyngsboro, MA) as they defeated the visiting Fisher College Falcons 6-0 this evening at Raider Field.
Caron got the Raiders on the board early in the first half as she netted her first goal of the game just 1:08 into action. Fourteen minutes later, she would add her second goal (third of the season) at the 15:15 mark.
Rivier (5-9-1 overall) would tally another three goals before the end of the half as senior Lauren Tamposi (Hollis, NH), freshman Kaylin LeClerc (Alfred, ME) and sophomore Holly Slocum (Holden, MA) combined to give the Raiders a comfortable five goal lead at the half.
Sophomore Paxton LaRocque (Londonderry, NH) would cap the offensive attack in the second half as she was able to make a beautiful move and lift the ball past the outstretched goaltender.
Senior Cassandra Brown (Somersworth, NH) made two saves for her fourth shutout of the season. Her counterpart, senior Deanna Morency (Auburn, ME) made 15 saves for the Falcons.
Rivier outshot the Falcons 32-4 over the 90 minutes.
Rivier will enjoy a day off before returning to the pitch as they host Great Northeast Athletic Conference foe Lasell College in a 7pm at Raider Field.
Fisher (6-11 overall) will travel to Bronxville, New York to face Sara Lawrence University for their final game of the regular season on Saturday afternoon.
