Women’s Soccer Improves to 2-0

Teaneck, N.J. – Fisher College women's soccer team improves to 2-0 on the season after taking an 8-0 victory from Yeshiva University (0-2) Friday afternoon in an NAIA-NCAA matchup.

 

Julia Schojan (Rochester, New York) was the leading scorer for the Falcons with three goals while also picking up an assist. Amanda Santiago (Saugus, California) netted a goal with less than two minutes before half-time, putting the Falcons up 5-0 at half-time. 

 

Talia McDonough (Forestdale, Massachusetts) added two goals in the second half to ensure the Falcon victory.

 

Senior midfielder Ashley De Sousa (Hazlet, New Jersey) was the first to score for Fisher; just 46 seconds into the game. Classmate Chrissy Briggs (Rumford, Maine) also netted a goal in the win. Both seniors tallied assists, Briggs with one and De Sousa three. 

 

Sophomore goalkeeper Paige Ciavarro (Lynnfield, Massachusetts) got the victory in the net for the Falcons.

 

Fisher College has almost a week off before hitting the road on Thursday, September 10 to face Becker College at 4:00 p.m.
