Becker Rallies Past Fisher, 5-2

LEICESTER, Mass.- Becker College overcame a two goal deficit to defeat Fisher College 5-2 in non-conference women's soccer action Thursday afternoon at Alumni Field.

Fisher (2-1) got on the board 15:38 into the game on Amanda Santiago's (Saugas, Calif.) third goal on the season. The Falcons made the score 2-0 when Santiago threaded a pass through the Hawks defense to Julia Schojan (Greece, N.Y.) for her ninth goal of the season.

Becker (3-1) cut the deficit in half when Ciara McKissick (Charlton, Mass.) headed a corner kick into the right corner of the Falcons net.

Becker tied the game 5:26 into the second half when Alison Mosdale (Marlborough, Conn.) stole the ball from a Fisher defender, promptly ripping a shot into the top left corner of the Falcons net.  The Hawks completed the comeback when Maria Colon (Wharton, N.J.) scored on a direct kick with 33:21 remaining in regulation.

Mosdale gave the Hawks some breathing room with 7:04 remaining in regulation on a breakaway goal to make the score 4-2. Maria Colon tallied her second goal of the contest with 2:16 remaining in regulation to make the final score 5-2.

Freshman Jordyn Martel (Chicopee, Mass.) earned her first collegiate victory after turning away three shots. Paige Ciavarro (Lynnfield, Mass.) made ten saves in a losing effort.

Fisher returns to the pitch on Saturday (September 12) when they travel to Mitchell College for a 1:00 P.M. tilt with the Mariners.  Becker will welcome Nichols College to Alumni Field on Tuesday at 4:00 P.M.
