Schojan Overpowers Dean

Franklin, Mass.-- Fisher College women's soccer team took part in a NAIA-NCAA cross match-up double header with their men's soccer team against Dean College on Saturday, October 1.  The Falcons' junior forward Julia Schojan stole the show scoring all 3 goals in the 3-1 victory.

Dean player Emily Anglehart opened up the scoring in the 12th minute of play to put the Bulldogs up 1-0 over the Falcons.  Schojan then rebuttled and scored in the 22nd minute to knot the game at 1-1.  The two teams battled for the rest of the 1st half, but neither team could take the advantage before time expired in the half.

Fisher came out of the half strong battling for the victory.  In the 62nd minute, Schojan pushed the Falcons ahead scoring her second goal of the game giving her team a 2-1 lead over the Bulldogs.  Twenty-minutes later, Schojan then scored her hat-trick and put the Falcons up 3-1.  With just 8 minutes left to play, the Falcons pushed to keep the Bulldogs out of the zone.

Junior goalkeeper Paige Ciavarro earned the victory in net for the Falcons making 5 saves and only allowing 1 goal.  

The Falcons will return to action on Thursday, October 6 when they play host to the University of Maine Fort Kent in a men's and women's double-header.  First touch will be at 6:00 p.m. at Hormel Stadium in Medford, Mass.
