Bengals Slash Falcons 11-1

Medford, Mass. – The Fisher College women's soccer team drops to 4-6-2 on the season after dropping an NAIA-USCAA cross match-up to the University of Maine at Fort Kent (UMFK) by the score of 11-1.  UMFK improves to 11-0 on the season with the victory.

 

Junior midfielder Holly Lesperance scored the lone goal for the Falcons on a penalty kick after a foul inside the box.  Lesperance has gone 3-for-3 with penalty kicks this season.  The penalty kick game in the 71st minute of the game to put the Bengals up nine, 10-1 with 20 minutes left to play. 

 

UMFK player Jennifer Cudjoe earned a hat-trick with three goals in the Bengals victory.  Cudjoe's opened the scoring with the first goal 11-minutes into the game.  Her second goal came just seven minutes later (18:11) which at that point, put UMFK up 4-0 over the Falcons.  Cudjoe opened up the scoring in the second half as well (54:51) to earn her the hat-trick on the evening.

 

Other key Bengals in the match were Amairani Carbajal, Sherifatu Sumaila, and Kendra Freund who added two goals apiece.  Catherine Bruno and Marie-Laurence Monta each added one goal to give the Bengals their 11 points.

 

The Falcons will look to bounce back when they head on the road to the University of Maine at Machias on Monday, October 10 for a 5:00 p.m. start.
