Medford, Mass. -- The Fisher College Falcons defeated the Broncos of SUNY Delhi on Saturday, October 22 by a score of 3-2. The Falcons improved to 7-6-2 on the season while Delhi moved to 7-6-1.
Junior midfielder Holly Lesperance opened the scoring for both teams in the 11th minute to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead. Six minutes later, Julia Schojan joined the scoring for the Falcons and added another goal to put the team up 2-0 over the Broncos.
Delhi was able to tack on a goal to cut the lead in half in the 21st minute with a goal by Katie Herba. Schojan didn't let the short 2-1 lead last as she tacked on another goal for the Falcons in the 38th minute to make it 3-1 in Fisher's favor.
With the last few minutes of the first half expiring quickly, Delhi was unable to put another goal on the board freezing the score at 3-1 at half.
The second half was a Delhi dominant half with the Bronco outshooting the Falcons 19-4 and scoring 1 goal to change the score to 3-2.
Hannah Malone earned the victory in net for the Falcons allowing 2 goals while making 19 saves with 21 shots on goal.
The Falcons will have a long break before hitting the pitch again on Saturday, October 29 at 1:00 p.m. when they play host to The King's College (NY). The match is set to be played at Hormel Stadium in Medford, Mass.
