Medford, Mass. -- Fisher College's women's soccer team held the University of Maine Fort Kent to a 3-1 victory on Wednesday afternoon. Senior goalkeeper Paige Ciavarro worked hard to keep Fort Kent off the board for majority of the game. The Falcons are now 6-3 on the season with the Bengals improving to 9-1.
The Falcons battled hard against the Bengals of UMaine - Fort Kent in the first half holding them to 45 shutout minutes and scoring a goal of their own. Delaney McNulty scored the lone goal for the Falcons in the 34th minute on a pass from Will Memeus.
Senior goalkeeper Paige Ciavarro made 7 saves in the first half with both goalies working hard defending their post. Heading into half time, the Falcons were up 1-0 over UMFK.
During the break, the Bengals sparked their energy and came into the second half roaring. Within 20 seconds, the Bengals knotted the game at 1-1. UMFK kept the Falcons' defense busy and added two more goals in the second half to take a 3-1 victory over the Falcons.
Ciavarro took the loss in net making 15 saves with 18 shots on goal and only allowing 3 goals. Alice Van for UMFK took the victory in net making 7 saves with 8 shots on goal and allowing 1 goal.
The Falcons will rest for a few days before taking on the Mustangs of Mount Ida College on Sunday, October 15 at 1:00 p.m.
