Women's Soccer Earns A Split Over The Weekend, Getting Another Win Over The UMPI Owls, 5-1

Presque Isle, ME - The women's soccer team headed to Maine over the weekend and earned a great win this afternoon after a tough loss to start the trip. On Saturday, The lady Falcons (2-4-1) faced an undefeated University of Maine-Fort Kent (5-0-1). Falcons goalkeeper Alexandra Colvin (Longmont, CO) faced a total of 12 shots and and three corner kick opportunities, but could not keep the Bengals at bay as they pressured the defense all afternoon earning a 9-0 win.  The offense could not get going but knew they had another opportunity to bounce back on Sunday against the UMPI Owls, a team they had just defeated last Sunday, 8-1.

The Falcons got on the board first in this contest, as Ali Mosdale (Marlborough, CT) scored her first of four goals in today's game. The Owl's responded within the next four minutes as Jordi Legassie (Presque Isle, ME) connected off of a pass from Kelsey Robinson (Atkinson, ME) to tie the game 1-1. Mosdale answered with her second goal of the game coming at the 27th minute mark which gave Fisher the lead going into halftime, 2-1. Senior midfielder Delaney McNulty (Northridge, CA) scored her 11th goal of the season coming from Mosdale just three minutes into the second half to give her team a 3-1 lead. Mosdale scored her third goal of the game and her fourth goal of the game in the 80th and 82nd minute, the second coming off a feed from Grace Roach (Hutchinson, MN). Fisher's offense came out firing in the bounce back win, getting a total of 16 shots on 21 attempts. Falcons goalkeeper Colvin saved a total of eight shots which helped the Falcons earn their second victory of the season with a final score of 5-1.

The team will look to carry this offense power on Wednesday as they host Green Mountain College (3-3) at Hormel Stadium with a 3pm start.
