DaSilva Scores Her First Collegiate Goal And Helps Lead The Falcons Past The Eagles, 3-2

Medford, MA- The women's soccer team have won two in a row for the first time this season thanks in part to freshman Carla DaSilva (Somerville, MA) who scored her first collegiate goal and added another assist to lead the Falcons past the Eagles, 3-2.

In what was a very competitive contest, each team had numerous opportunities to score as the two teams combined for 43 shots (29 on goal). It was Fisher who broke into the score column first when the 9-10 connection struck again with Delaney McNulty (Northbridge, CA) feeding it to Alison Mosdale (Marlborough, CT) to give the Falcons the 1-0 lead at the 31:50 mark.  The score looked to remain knotted at 1-0 heading into halftime, but Green Mountain had other plans. Sophomore Maya Golowasch (West Harrison, NY) got free and put a shot on goal only to see Falcons keeper Alexandra Colvin (Longmont, CO) make the stop, but the richochet landed at the feet of freshman Avery Barber (Cincinnatus, NY) who finished it to tie it 1-1 just five seconds before the horn.

The Falcons came out of the half eager, as just 38 seconds in, a feed from Will Memeus (Malden, MA) down the middle found the feet of DaSilva where she beat Eagles keeper Jessica Casey (St. Albans, VT) for the 2-1 lead.  Twelve minutes later the Eagles were able to score the exact same way as their first.  Golowasch put a strike on net, but Colvin made an amazing stop to deny her, but again the ball richocheted right to the feet of Barber where she was able to knock it in to tie it up, 2-2.  Fisher went up for good when DaSilva and Memeus teamed up again in the 71st minute.  DaSilva tapped one to her left as Memeus broke down the middle creating space for her to put a hard shot past Casey in net for the 3-2 lead and eventual goal winner. Memeus now has 18 points this season, good for third on the squad.

Fisher will look to continue the win streak when they head to Penn State-Harrisburg this Sunday for a 2pm start.
