The Falcons Outshoot The Shock, But Cannot Come Up With The Conference Win Against Washington Adventist and Fall 4-1

Takoma Park, MD- Coming off a tough loss to Penn State-Harrisburg the day before, the Lady Falcons (3-6-1) looked to get back on the winning track against A.I.I. Conference foe, Washington Adventist (6-7) on Monday afternoon.  But the Shock had other ideas as they grabbed a critical win in conference play, 4-1.

Washington Adventist got on the board first at 4:02 mark when Jennyfer Gonzalez got one by Falcons keeper Alexandra Colvin (Longmont, CO) to give her team an early 1-0 lead.  The Falcons countered just 30 seconds later when Carla DaSilva (Somerville, MA) grabbed her second goal of the week to knot the score 1-1.  Each team had numerous opportunites to score before the half, but could not capitalize and headed into halftime tied 1-1.  The second half was filled with offensive spurts for the Falcons as they had nine shots (six on goal), but Shock keeper Laura Perez denied each attempt keeping her team ahead.  Washington Adventist took advantage of their goalie's strong game and scored three times in the second half to give them the 4-1 conference win.  Ali Mosdale (Marlborough, CT) led the way offensively for the Falcons with six shots on the day, while Will Memeus (Everett, MA) contributed with three.

The Falcons will look to stay in the A.I.I. playoff hunt when they play host to Bellevue on Thursday afternoon at 5:30pm.
