Boston, MA- The Women's Soccer team has faced a tough schedule over the past two weeks and on Saturday afternoon it was no different as they took on the University of Maine-Fort Kent Bengals. The Bengals controlled much of the game, and Falcons keeper Olivia Handy (La Verne, CA) did all she could to keep her team from their 10th loss with 18 saves, but it was not enough as the Falcons fell 4-0 to UMFK at the Winsor School on Saturday afternoon. The win brought the Bengals record to 6-3 while the Falcons fall to 1-10-1.

The Bengals came out aggressive right from the start, collecting a pair of shots on goal just two minutes into the period. Handy added a third save in the 5th minute, but UMFK broke through in the 10th minute on a Molly McManus unassisted goal to take an early 1-0 lead. The Falcons earned their first scoring opportunity just minutes later when Meghan Menzel (Big Rock, IL) blasted a shot that missed left to keep it a 1-0 ball game. Grace Roach (Hutchinson, MN) looked to tie it with 22 minutes left before the half, but her shot sailed high and the Falcons would remain down one goal. The Bengals added another goal with 13 minutes left in the period when Yuliann Sanchez manuevered her way through the defense to drive a shot passed the diving Handy to take a 2-0 lead into the half.

UMFK came out of the break hungry for another goal as they scored less than three minutes into the second half when Sanchez earned her second goal of the afternoon for the 3-0 lead. Menzel had Fisher's best opportunity in the second as she found her way open for a shot, but Bengals keeper Lorelei Breitfield made the stop to keep it a 3-0 lead for the visitors. Fisher earned a pair of corner kicks in the second half, but could not break through. The Bengals added a 4th goal from Tolu Oyeniyi in the final minutes to help lead her team to a 4-0 victory.

Menzel led the Falcons with a pair of shots, while Handy tallied another 18 saves in net for the Falcons. She now has 117 saves this season, good enough for first in the AII Conference. Breitfield stopped the only shot on goal for the victory in net. 

The Falcons are now off for the week as they play host to Pratt Institute next Sunday at Winsor at 3pm.
