WINCHESTER, MASS. – For the first time since October 2019, the Fisher College Women's Soccer was back out on the pitch this afternoon for a competitive collegiate contest. The Falcons welcomed Husson University to the Winchester Community Park turf field on a wet and rain filled Wednesday afternoon.

Fisher was able to find the back of the net three times, however the powerful Eagle offense proved to be too much as the Falcons fell 15-3.

The Falcons, who returned just five student-athletes from the 2019 team, saw the newcomers provide a positive impact right away. Freshman Juliette Dominguez (Hesperia, Calif.) scored the team's first goal of the season, and the first of her collegiate career, in the 64th minute to get the Falcons on the board. Twenty minutes later, Dominguez sent a solid thru ball to classmate Kelly Wallace (Hanover, Mass.), who then buried her shot in to the back of the net for her first collegiate goal in the 82nd minute. With time winding down in the contest, the Falcons kept applying the pressure as freshman Olivia Leo (Dunmore, Pa.) registered her first career goal in the 88th minute with the assist credited to Wallace.

Leo started the contest in net for Fisher, where she collected 14 saves over the first 45 minutes. Freshman Ameilia Schaefer (Cherry Hill, N.J.) played between the pipes in the second half and made seven saves.

For Husson, newcomers Charlotte Messer (Rockport, Maine) and Natalie Aviolla (Hudson, Fla.) each scored three goals and Willow Whitten (Caribou, Maine) netted a pair of goals in the win. Seven other members of the Eagles program also registered goals in the contest. Shie Smith (Winthrop, Maine) was credited with the win in goal as she made one save on one shot in the first 45 minutes of action.

The Falcons will return to action this weekend as they head north for their next schedule contest on Saturday afternoon. Fisher will battle Northern Vermont University – Lyndon with a kickoff set for 1pm.
