MEDFORD, MASS. – The Fisher College Women's Soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision this afternoon to visiting Wentworth Institute of Technology inside Hormel Stadium. The loss sends the Falcons to 3-4-1 overall while the win lifts the Leopards above .500 at 4-3-1 on the season.

Wentworth controlled most of the action over the 90 minutes however the Falcon defense answered the bell and limited the opportunities on net for the Leopards. Sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Leo (Dunmore, Pa.) made six saves in the opening half of play as the teams entered the locker rooms scoreless at the break.

The game's lone goal came in the 52nd minute on a series of well executed plays inside the Fisher 18. Wentworth freshman Lina Arlander (Skjetten, Norway) chased down a free kick to the right of the Falcon net and sent a cross into the middle where sophomore Jenny Montville (Plainville, Mass.) alertly redirected the ball to the far post where freshman Megan Barilone (Bennington. Vt.) capitalized on the open net for her second goal of the season.

That would be all the Leopards would get however as Leo made 14 saves on the afternoon to keep it a 1-0 contest. Wentworth sophomore Lily Cohen (Cherry Hill, N.J.) picked up her first win of the season between the pipes with a clean sheet. Fisher did have an opportunity late in the game to find the equalizer. In the 87th minute, freshman Ariana Artavia (Dallas, Ga.) sent a shot from about 25 yards out that sailed just to the right of the upper 90.

Both programs will be back in action on Saturday afternoon as the Falcons travel out to Bryant & Stratton College – Albany for a 4:30pm kickoff while Wentworth will host Curry College.
